Chitambakkam Village, Tamil Nadu, India

“The hand pump which we had in our village got damaged and we were in great stuggle to get the water for our daily needs. The government has put one tap and they provide water for only one or two hours a day and it was insufficient for us and thus we were in great mental agony and now we are able to get releived from such tension as we are able to get the sufficient water from the new water project. Our children are healthy as they are able to attend to their health and hygiene from the water project. Thank you very much for the support.”

Ms. J.Shalini D/o Jayapal, Community Member.

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
