“Despite the many challenges faced during the process, we successfully installed the pump, which will serve a large number of people, as existing pumps are located far from the village. For years, villagers have relied on streams and open wells, often shared with wild animals, putting their health at serious risk from waterborne diseases. The village chief expressed heartfelt thanks to Wells for Zoë for providing clean and safe water. The community depends on farming for their livelihood. Though they live in poverty, they are hardworking and determined. The village also has a pre-school, but it lacks trained caregivers to support early childhood education.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
