“Everyone is happier and healthier now. The outbreak of waterborne diseases has rampantly been increasing of recent. Diarrhoea and cholera were almost turning into normal cases in our community. Community health nurses have been always teaching us about hygiene and sanitation but surprisingly even at the health centre there is no reliable water source. Our local leaders had requisitioned for boreholes but all in vain. We are grateful that you have constructed for us this well. This well will help decrease the rate of people being contaminated with water borne diseases. With improved water and sanitation services everyone will be happier and healthier.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
