“The construction of this well in our community calls for celebration, access to water in our community is pure joy. Before the construction of this water source my worry was always not having water at home. We do a lot of manual jobs for a living. Times were really hard and worse with the current pandemic situation. I would sometimes forego some of my part time jobs to go in search for water. The nearest source of water was about 2 kilometers, which is a very long distance to trek to and back. But now, worrying over water will no longer be a problem to me with the availability of this source of water. I can now work more and earn more. I am very grateful and happy. This will improve our livelihoods as a community. Thank you so much”.

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
