“Growing up in an environment with only dirty water is quite challenging. It’s not too much to ask for clean water. Being a woman with all the demands of a home, like having to keep it clean, wash clothes for everyone and prepare meals – clean water becomes a woman’s good friend.

But all my life, water was a nightmare. Coupled with the fact that it was dirty, the pond was shared by over three hundred homes which was even more frustrating. Every time I thought about water my heart would skip. The story has now changed. We now have access to clean and safe water in our community. We can smile with ease, housework is made easy and we can invest the time we used to spend looking for clean water on income generating ventures. Everything has just changed.”
