“Most of the villages in Kaluholo area have no boreholes though they are near Mzimba township. People were very funny as people were dancing and singing songs when they saw the pump being installed. The situation in the area is very critical as animals and many wild animals share the same well. Some people in the area have no pit latrine so most waste matters during rainy season were near the open well people were using.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
