“The installation went well. Pump photos were taken. We were welcomed by Mr Kalua who is the pump supervisor in the area. People were very happy with us in the village. Most of them live in uplands areas and the wells they have dug are very deep – no well is less than 10 metres. Marion mission went for help but failed to install their pumps. People in Hoho, most of them grow onions and tomatoes for their income. Traveling is easy to move from one place to another because at least the roads are good. The other challenge is that there is no hospital in the area and people travel long distances for medication.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
