‘This well was built by the villagers themselves and more work was done during the installation. The pump is installed in Chinyama village and it is working well. People in this village are relieved from drawing water in open wells.

People in the area depend on fishing and doing small businesses and they live in good houses. Schools are there and many children go to school. They have no preschools in the area.’

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
