Chidima, Mzimba, Malawi

“Happy people warmly welcomed by the people in the village, the pump installation went well because people were doing whatever was asked of them. Chidima village in Kapelura area is very poor. People depend on farming and they lack many things in their daily life, for example no preschools in the area. Primary schools are very far that some children are failing to continue with their education. Now with this new pump, adults can work on their crops, children can easily help collect water in the area, and attend their education in a timely manner.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
