Arundhathi Puram SC Village, Tamil Nadu, India

“We are from very very low community and people never respect us. We are segregated from the main village and the village people neglect us and indirectly object to fetch water from their places. Moreover the water we used to get was once in two days and only 2 pots would be allowed and with the little water we were not in a position to attend to the domestic works. We had to go to the deep well to fetch the water and it was a great burden for us to take care of the children and also go for casual labour work and also due to poor health conditions we had been suffering a lot. Now we are relived. Thank you very much for the support you have given to deplorable community like ours”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
