Anien Village, Warrap State, South Sudan

“My name is Nyirou Ajak Athian, I am a mother of three children of ages ranging from two years to eight years. Among them is one child in school and two children will join next year. When the well is broken down, animals and us do suffer a lot. Now I am happy for the availability of spare parts and well repair mechanics that we can reach out for quickly. Now I hope that our maintenance circle will be complete because well repair mechanics and spare parts are available. We committee members are working very hard to maintain the well and apply the community bye-laws.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
