“We were warmly welcomed by joyful villagers as the pump installation was successfully completed, with many residents present to witness the process. The community expressed their excitement and gratitude by singing and dancing in celebration, thanking Drop4Drop and Trent College for providing them with safe and clean water.

The villagers are small-scale farmers, primarily growing maize and pumpkins for food. However, the roads leading to the village are in poor condition, making travel especially difficult during the rainy season.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
