Naombe 2 Village, Mpigi District, Uganda

“Before in Naombe B village every day began with worry, long walks to collect water, children missing school, water was scarce, heavy and on top of that community members suffered from water related illnesses. All this was caused by lack of clean and safe water in the community. Everything changed in Naombe B village and it all started with clean Water. Residents of Naombe B Village can now access clean and safe water following the construction of a borehole donated by Last Night A DJ Saved My Life Foundation and Kamelia’s Tribe. The project was implemented by Drop4Drop and this has helped to ease access to safe drinking water and directly improving community health. The health of the entire community will improve and needless deaths due to diarrhea, dysentery and other waterborne illnesses that will be reduced dramatically. Community members now have the time to focus on growing their crops, starting businesses and learning new skills.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
