Viliyar Kalany (Senjiagaram) ST Village, Tamil Nadu, India
Kindly Donated by The Taranaki Syndicate & Ballance, Kapuni
“I am Suryagandhi of Viliyar Kalany (Senjiagaram) ST Village profoundly pleased to greet and Welcome MR. ASHOK’s FAMILY on behalf of our villagers in order to dedicate the water project kindly donated by TARANAKI SYNDICATE and BALLANCE. As we have been longing for the clean and safe drinking water source all these years, thanks to Ashok’s family for their wonderful opportunity bestowed to our deprived community. In our village there is a water supply through Panchayat water line, daily one hour only water supply is available and we used to wait for the water lineman to open the valve to supply the water. Within a short period, all of us used to quarrel and fetch very few pots which were not sufficient and again we had to wait for the next time to get the water. Most of the time we used to go long distances to open ponds, canals to wash clothes once in a week and dry it up in open areas and wait for few hours for the dresses to get dried and return walking to our homes. It was a great struggle and the children were not able to wear clean and tidy dresses. Now the new water project serves as a great blessing to all the people and we are very happy to see the water nearer to our homes. With their benevolent contribution to establish a deep borewell fitted with an electrical motor and a 2000 litres over head tank has brought a new dimension in our daily life. Our children are happy and the elders are relieved from losing their daily income because of lack of clean water. Thanks to Ashok and family, The Taranaki Syndicate & Ballance. Thank you very much. ‘The greatest joy is making others happy’, and your family and Partners made our Community Happy and Privileged. Heartfelt Gratitude from Viliyar Kalany (Senjiagaram) ST Villagers.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
