”Bumbo village located in Mpigi District of Uganda had a big challenge of lack of access to clean and safe water, residents used to rely on a pond as their only source of water. This led to widespread of waterborne diseases like Cholera and typhoid especially affecting children and the elderly. The community leaders collaborated with Drop4Drop with support from DJ. Fat Boy and Last Night A DJ saved my life foundation to provide clean water to this community. With this clean source of water, the impact is transformative, families no longer have to travel long distances to fetch water freeing up time for children to attend school regularly. The community members now can focus on agricultural activities and small businesses instead of spending valuable time searching for clean water. This water source doesn’t require complex maintenance because it’s very easy to mechanically maintain because the spare parts are available for the pump. Thanks to Drop 4 drop and Last Night a Dj saved my life foundation for making this happen.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
