‘I am Mrs. Rekha (31 years old) W/o Mr. Murugan of Sanaputhur SC Village immensely pleased to thank NEWS NGO, DROP4DROP, U.K. and HOUSE OF LEGENDS, for sponsoring a deep Borewell fitted with an Electrical Motor and a 2000 Liters overhead tank to our Sanaputhur SC Village. We used to wait for the Panchyat water taps to provide water and the plumber only used to open the valve for a short amount of time. We used to stand in long queue to fetch the water. Most of the time we used to get only few pots and this was not sufficient for the domestic needs. So we used to go to the open ponds and bring the water and carry on our forehead and with great strain. Especially our younger girls used to waste a lot of time to bring water to the huts and were not able to concentrate on their homework. Unfortunately that meant used to get very low marks and sometimes they used to take leave due to physical hardships. Now we are relieved from such agonies and are able to get the water nearer to our huts and we thank you very much to HOUSE OF LEGENDS, DROP4DROP, U.K., and NEWS NGO. Be Healthy, Be Happy.’

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
