“The main work of the home was to bring water and to meet the water needs of my family members, but it was so hard to walk and bring the water on either heavy on our foreheads or hips. The adolescent girls were forced to bring the water as there was no other way and on the way back there were lots of hurdles and also have to be very cautious from the bites of the venomous reptiles and insects. Bringing water to our homes was a great task and we had several times cursed our poor living conditions. But the new water project in our village is a great support to us and especially to our children. During the time of the pandemic, the children are able to follow preventative measures by washing hands and maintaining good health conditions. The older children are able to spend more time studying and doing their homework so there are considerable changes in health and education.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
